No amendments arrived on my docket this week, either, so I’m still at zero amendments.

I have been working on my oldest Regular New application, and have made good progress, but have not been able to finish the Office Action. I hope to do that this weekend.
No amendments this week, so I finished a first Office Action on a case from my Regular New docket, and then started another Regular New case.

I’ve done two Office Actions during the first biweek of the second quarter. Things could be worse, but I still need to get production up for the quarter. Fortunately — maybe — there is a case which I rejected a little more than six months ago, with no response showing up. If no amendment appears, I’ll call the attorney in a week or so, hoping to confirm that it’s been allowed to go abandoned. An abandonment will help me look more productive.
During the first week of the second quarter of Fiscal Year 2025, I did not get any amendments, so I’m still at zero amendments.

I did finish a first Office Action on my oldest Regular New application, and I started on another Regular New.
This evening, I finished and posted an Office Action on the only amendment on my Amended docket, so I’m down to zero amendments.

I finished and posted Office Actions on both my oldest Regular New application, and another Regular New case. My production for the quarter could be better, but it was at least at an adequate level, and I will be permitted to remain a civil service drudge for another three months. I plan to eat a late dinner, and celebrate the tolerably successful conclusion of the quarter with a small post-prandial glass of port.
An amendment showed up on my Amended docket Friday, so I’m now at one amendment.

I have made good progress on my oldest Regular New application, although I have not finished writing the Office Action. I also did some searching for a different Regular New case. With one week left in the first quarter, I need to be productive.
I began with two amendments on my Amended docket, and today I finished Office Actions on both of them, so, for the moment, I have caught up with the Red Queen, and have zero amendments.

Earlier this week, I finished an Office Action on my oldest Regular New application, so I’m doing tolerably well for now. There is one more biweek left in the first quarter of Fiscal Year 2025, so I will have to work hard to make sure that my production for the whole quarter is good enough.
This week, I acquired two amendments on my Amended docket, and then I finished and posted an Office Action on the one amendment which I had had for a month or so, so I’m at two amendments on my Amended docket. I also had a case show up on my Expedited docket, and dealt with that quickly; it was an allowed case in which the applicant wanted to make some minor corrections, which I approved.

And I have been working on my oldest Regular New application.
I did not get any amendments this week, and I have been working on the one amendment which I have on my Amended docket, but for now it’s still there.

I have finished a first Office Action on one of my Regular New applications, so my production for the past biweek actually looks pretty good. Now I have to do well during the remaining two biweeks of the first quarter.
I started with two cases on my Amended docket, and did an Office Action on one of them Monday. I then got another amendment, and did an Office Action on that Friday. I am left with one amendment, which I hope to work on next week.

I attempted to finish an Office Action on my oldest non-RCE Regular New application for the previous biweek on Saturday, November 2, and I did so, but there were computer problems, so I was unable to post it until Sunday the third, the first day of this biweek. Therefore, I did not get a new case assigned as my official oldest Regular New application, so I have been working on the application which is presumably oldest; it has the lowest serial number. I also hope to finish a first Office Action on that next week.
I acquired a second amendment on my Amended docket this week, and, although I participated in an Appeal conference on the older of the two amendments, I did not actually write an Examiner’s Answer or other response, so I’m still at two amendments. I also got two cases on my Expedited docket this week; one was an information disclosure statement in an allowed application, listing one more document which the applicant wanted me to consider, and the other was an amendment, which showed up on my Expedited docket instead of my Amended docket because the case had been made special. I dealt with both of these, and so my Expedited docket is down to zero.

I have also worked on my oldest Regular New (non-RCE) application. I’m not finished, but I hope to get out an Office Action before midnight Saturday, making my production for the biweek look relatively good.
I got one new amendment on my Amended docket back on Saturday the 19th, bringing the total to four amendments. Then I dealt with three of these amendments, including the new one, so I’m down to one amendment. That amendment is actually an Appeal Brief, so I will attend an appeal conference with my supervisor and another worthy on Tuesday, after which I should be able to respond one way or another.

I began the week with an oldest non-RCE Regular New application, and a Request for Continued Examination oldest Regular New. I wrote an Office Action on the RCE case, and have been searching for prior art relevant to the non-RCE.
This week, someone filed an After Final amendment on a case; this showed up in my Expedited docket, so I dealt with it, and now my Expedited docket is back down to zero cases. Two ordinary amendments appeared on my Amended docket, so now I’m up to three amendments there.

I have been working on my oldest Regular New case, which involves considering hundreds of prior art patents and other documents on multiple Information Disclosure Statements, so that’s been keeping me busy.

Also, an application that I did a first action rejection on last spring is now a little past its six month date. I’ll let it wait a bit longer, but I hope to confirm abandonment, and get credit for that.
Someone filed an amendment in response to a rejection I wrote a few months ago, so I now have one case on my Amended docket.

I finished a first action on a Regular New application Friday, and started on another Regular New (the oldest on my Regular New docket).

Today, Saturday, is the last day of a biweek that is split between fiscal years. What I finished in September counts toward Fiscal Year 2024; my recent Office Action on a Regular New case, and also an interview summary I wrote when a patent agent called to discuss one of my rejected cases, count toward the new Fiscal Year 2025.
I managed adequate, although not excellent, production for the fourth quarter, and therefore for the whole Fiscal Year, and then I went out to Thai Square for dinner to celebrate. I ate tofu with bean sprouts (and a little other vegetable matter), and then sticky rice with black beans for dessert.

I went in to the Patent Office complex in Carlyle on Tuesday, put in a day’s work, and then came home and ate dinner. I decided to celebrate having a job for a while longer by opening my bottle of Grand Marnier (which I bought several years ago, and is still more than half full), and poured myself a drink. The splash which I had poured into a wineglass was more than I wanted, so after a few sips, I put the glass into the refrigerator for tomorrow evening. Brandy should not be drunk like wine, still less like lemonade, and I don’t have a high tolerance for alcohol.

I might manage a level of production to be proud of, not just scrape by as adequate, but the past few years, higher-ups have demanded that examiners jump through more hoops to do Office Actions, without getting more time to do them.
No amendments this week, so nothing on my Amended docket.

I did complete a first action on one of the cases on my Regular New docket, and I am now working on another such application. An Office Action had really better be finished and posted by the end of Monday, September 30, to make my production for the final quarter of Fiscal Year 2024 adequate.
This week, one amendment appeared on my Expedited docket; the applicant just wanted to correct one misspelling in a set of patent claims that I had allowed, so I approved that. There is nothing on my Amended docket.

This week, I also finished an Office Action on a Regular New case, and I finished and posted an Office Action on a case that had showed up on my Special New docket. I had in fact done most of the work earlier, but the case had not been in a status enabling me to post it; now that’s taken care of.

There are ten days left in the Fiscal Year, and I am going to have to be productive, probably by finishing an Office Action on the Regular New case which I am now working on, and then doing the same with another Regular New. Wish me luck.
No amendments have appeared on my Amended docket, so I’m still at zero.

I have completed a first action on my oldest Regular New application (the Office Action was over fifty pages long, since the application had some lengthy, messy claims), and now I’m working on another Regular New application.

It’s basically two weeks until the end of the quarter and the Fiscal Year. I need to be productive.
No amendment showed up this week, so I’m still at zero.

I’ve made progress on a Regular New case, but I’m not finished. The case is rather a mess.
This week, one amendment of a rejected application showed up on my Amendments docket, and I wrote an Office Action in response, and posted it for credit, so I’m back at zero cases on my Amended docket.

I also finished and posted a first action on my oldest Regular New application (earlier in the week, before I worked on the amendment), and now I have been working on another Regular New case.
This week, I did not receive any amendments, so I still have zero on my Amended docket. Someone has filed an amendment in response to a first action rejection which I wrote a few months ago, but so far it hasn’t been processed, and the case is still in my Rejections docket.

I finished an Office Action on one of my Regular New cases, and I have been working on another one. Also, I did something called a C star challenge, in order to adjust the way one of my Regular New cases is classified.
