Renter’s Insurance
Jul. 27th, 2024 12:49 amLast weekend, I took my iPadAir to a computer repair place to get advice on how to upload proof of my having obtained my own renter’s insurance to a website of my landlord’s. If a tenant doesn’t get his own, apartment management gets it for him, and adds $17 per month to his rent, in contrast to the $90 per year which I’m now paying to State Farm. It used to be that they would accept a fax or email from the local insurance agent, but now everything has to be computerized.
Anyway, here’s the procedure, which may be useful to me next year: Get insurance web page from State Farm, and send as email, which will cause the document to become an attachment in the email. Save that PDF attachment to iPadAir. Get into apartment management website, and enter PDF into space near bottom. Submit.
