Dahlia Lithwick and Margo Schlanger had a piece in Slate the other day about the present administration’s odious treatment of detained illegal aliens, persons requesting asylum (which is not the same as being present illegally), and children, from teenagers to babies, denied adequate blankets, and having to do without soap and toothpaste. The article lists a number of organizations which are trying to help, so if you’re feeling compassionate, and have a few dollars to spare, this is a starting point.
