This week, I got one amendment, and wrote an Office Action on it, so my Amended docket is down to zero again.

I finished a first action on a Regular New application, although it took quite a bit of time; I wrote an exceptionally lengthy rejection.

I now have a Request for Continued Examination case on my Regular New docket, although I did not write the final rejection to which it is a response. One of the other examiners is either departed from the Patent Office or on extended sick leave, so I inherited a case of his.
This week, one allowed case appeared on my Expedited docket, because I had made minor errors in the Notice of Allowance, so I responded to that. Since then, I have been at zero cases on my Amended and Expedited dockets.

I finished a first action on my oldest Regular New application, and have been working on another Regular New.
This week, one new amendment appeared on my Amended docket, and I managed to finish Office Actions on both that and the amendment I already had, so my Amended docket is down to zero.

I also finished an Office Action on a Regular New case, and I’ve been working on another new case, which may or may not be my oldest Regular New application when the next biweek begins on the nineteenth.
This week, an amendment appeared on my Expedited docket, so I dropped the other stuff I was working on to consider it and write an Office Action. I also worked on the one amendment on my Amended docket; I left a couple of voicemail messages for the patent attorney, suggesting that we might be able to amend the claims further to make them allowable, but perhaps he had started a long Veterans’ Day weekend early, as I didn’t hear back from him. Maybe next week. For now, I have one amendment on my Amended docket.

I had a designated oldest Regular New case, but it was a continuation of an application which another examiner had worked on, and the other examiner agreed to accept it, so my supervisor transferred it to him. I have been working on another Regular New, but I haven’t finished with it.
This past week, I received one case on my Expedited docket; someone wanted me to consider additional prior art on an allowed case, and I did that.

I also finished and posted a first action on my oldest Regular New application.
I got another amendment this week, bringing the total on my Amended docket to three.

I haven’t worked on my amendments to any major extent, but I have been working on my oldest Regular New case. The abstract of a non-patent literature article looks interesting, and I’m waiting for STIC (that’s the Scientific and Technological Information Center) to get me the full article. I may work on an amendment or two while waiting for that.
I got another amendment on my Amended docket this week, and didn’t write Office Actions on any amendments, so I’m now up to two amendments.

I wrote and posted Office Actions on my Special New case, and then on the Request for Continued Examination case on my Regular New docket. My production for the biweek that ends Saturday is at a non-disgraceful level, and I hope to accomplish a few things next week.
I now have an amendment on my Amended docket, and haven’t done much with it yet.

During the half of this week that I was officially working, I finished and posted an Office Action on my oldest non-RCE Regular New application. I also have an oldest Request for Continued Examination Regular New case, and a Special New case; I have started work on the latter. After these, there may be time for amendments.
I was able to write and post an Office Action on my single amendment, so now I’m down to zero amendments on my docket.

The big news is that I finished and posted an Office Action on my oldest Regular New case on Monday, in time to get it counted for Fiscal Year 2023, putting my production at a (barely) acceptable level.

I’ve been making progress on another Regular New case, but I’m not finished. Also, someone filed a Request for Continued Examination on one of my rejected cases, so I now have that as one of my oldest Regular New cases. Once the new biweek begins (Sunday), I’ll have that, and also a non-RCE oldest Regular New, which may well be the case I’ve been working on, although that isn’t guaranteed.
No new amendments appeared this week, and I wrote Office Actions on two of the three amendments that I had, so I’m down to one amendment on my Amended docket.

I have been working on my oldest Regular New application, and have made progress, but am not finished. Normally, I would have to finish and post it by the end of September 30, but, as some examiners were delayed by computer problems, the Patent Commissioner is giving us until the end of Monday. I will nonetheless try to finish my Office Action as soon as I reasonably can, so I can start working on my production for the first quarter of Fiscal Year 2024. I do need to turn in the case I’m working on for my production for the second half of FY 2023 to be minimally adequate.

Oh, and I may be coming down with a cold. My throat was scratchy Friday afternoon, so I walked to a drugstore a few blocks from the Patent Office, and bought a supply of zinc gluconate lozenges, which may do me some good.
This week, I finished an Office Action on one of my two amendments, and got two more amendments on my Amended docket, bringing the total to three. I’ve done work on two of the three (not the one which showed up late Friday afternoon), but I’ll need to work things out with patent attorneys and their clients to allow them, or else I’ll have to reject them.

I finished a first action rejection on my oldest Regular New application. One week remains in the fiscal year.
This week, I got two new amendments on my Amended docket, and didn’t get around to either of them.

No new amendments arrived on my docket this week, so I’m still at zero amendments.

I finished and posted an Office Action on one of my Regular New applications this week, and I’ve been searching the prior art for patents and other documents relevant to another Regular New.

I also confirmed abandonment of one of the cases on my Rejected docket, which boosts my production a bit. With the end of the Fiscal Year three weeks away, my production can use all the boosting it can get.

When searching the prior art this afternoon (I’ve been teleworking today), I listened to Sibelius’s “Swan of Tuonela,” “Finlandia,” and then his First Symphony. It’s been a long time since I listened to my album of Sibelius CDs.
This past week, I finished Office Actions on both of the amendments on my Amended docket, so I’m down to zero amendments.

On Saturday, I finished an Office Action on a Regular New case, and got that counted for last biweek. Then I found myself with two oldest Regular New cases, one of them a Request for Continued Examination. I finished and posted an Office Action on the RCE case, and I offered the other oldest Regular New to an examiner who had worked on a related case; he accepted, so it’s now off my docket. I have been working on a different Regular New application, but I haven’t finished it.
This week, I posted an Office Action on one of my amendments, and another amendment appeared on my Amended docket, so I’m back at two amendments on my Amended docket.

I’ve been working on a Regular New application, and I’m almost done. I hope to finish it before 3:00 PM Saturday, so it will be counted for this biweek.
This week, I finished an Office Action on one of my amendments, and a new amendment showed up for another application, so I’m back to two amendments on my Amended docket.

This week, I found two cases on my Expedited docket, one of them a minor correction to an allowed application, and the other a new Information Disclosure Statement for me to consider after allowance; I dealt with both of them with celerity, and no longer have any Expedited cases. Another amendment appeared on my Amended docket; I completed and posted Office Actions on two of my older amendments and on the new one, so I am down from having four items on my Amended docket to having just two.

This week, I received two new amendment on my Amended docket, and didn’t write any Office Actions on amendments, so I’m now up to four amendments. I am working on one of those cases.

I also finished an Office Action on my oldest Regular New application, so that’s something. Also, it has been just over six months since I did a first action rejection on one of my applications, and there doesn’t seem to be a response, so I hope to be able to confirm abandonment, which will boost my production for the final quarter of Fiscal Year 2023.
This week, I found one new amendment on my Amended docket; I completed Office Actions on the new amendment and one of the existing ones, so I’m down to two amendments on my Amended docket. If you’re wondering why I didn’t work on the older amendments before the new one, one of the two remaining amendments is in paused status for some some reason; the other is not in ideal condition to be examined, so I made two calls the other day, leaving messages for the patent attorney, trying to get something fixed before I examine the case.

I finally finished an Office Action on my oldest Regular New application, and I have done some work on another Regular New, which may be my oldest Regular New come next biweek.
I heard back from a patent attorney about the case on my Expedited docket, and was able to finish an Office Action on that. I also got another amendment on my Amended docket, so I’m up to three there, and zero on my Expedited docket.

And I have been working on my oldest Regular New application.
