There was no apple cider at the farmers’ market earlier today, so it seems that for the next few months, I will have to either do without cider, or make do with the infimal product sold in supermarkets. On the other hand, I was able to buy a quart of Methley plums, which were also available three and two weeks ago, although not last week. Supermarket plums are generally a sour and flavorless substitute for Methley sugar plums.
