The Gas Is On

ndrosenThe apartment building was evacuated Tuesday, while I was away. There’s a construction project going on, and it perforated the main gas pipe, so when I got home, the gas was off, and I couldn’t cook. I made sandwiches and a salad for dinner; I was told that the gas would be back on soon. Then there was an email that the people from Washington gas would be back in the morning to fix.
In the morning, there was no gas, so I had peanut butter and jam sandwiches for breakfast, with no oatmeal and no tea.
When I got back home after 8:30 PM, there was no gas, so I went out to dinner, although it would have been nice to take my shoes off and eat at home. Finally, after I came home from dinner, someone from Maintenance came by and turned on the gas to my stove. At least it should be over now.
