ndrosenYesterday, we had cold rain and sleet, which may not be good for the cherry blossoms and other flower buds. Today, we had a substantial snowfall, and the federal government was shut down, although your humble civil servant nonetheless made it to the office and worked on a case.
Yesterday, I attended a meeting at work where the directors of the Work Group passed out certificates to those who were affirmed by the Board of Appeals during the first quarter of the Fiscal Year. I was, I am informed, affirmed in two cases, while at least one examiner was affirmed in five, which is pretty astonishing, not necessarily that his batting average would be that high, although the Board does overturn some rejections, but that the Board would rule on that many appeals for his docket within such a timeframe. One of the directors also gave some advice about when it's proper to go to the Board, and invited further discussion and questions.
