To continue with the evening of July 28, when the Henry George Institute had its membership meeting, here is what was said, mostly by Lindy Davies:

In 2012, we secured a college transfer credit recommendation from the NCCRS. We will renew. So far, two people have actually obtained transfer credit from Excelsior College (part of the University of New York).

History: The Henry George School of New York had a thriving correspondence course program in six languages. The Henry George Institute was founded in 1971 to revive the correspondence course program. (Its founding president, Robert Clancy, was fired from the HG School in 1969-1970 in a vain attempt to obtain Lincoln Institute funding.) The HG School had lifetime Board members to prevent infiltration. The HG Institute is democratic, but the Board can refuse membership applications; this has never happened, but it could, especially if, for example, the organization came into money.

What can you do? There was discussion of volunteer opportunities; that will be a different post, I think.

Georgist education is not passé. We must do it, and the Henry George Institute does it.
