In the late afternoon of Friday, July 28, 2017, we heard from Alanna Hartzok on "Herding Cats: Strategy and Intention for Land Value Tax Policy Implementation via the New Urban Agenda." She began with a video of cowboys herding cats, and then spoke seriously about the U.N. General Assembly's New Urban Agenda of December 2016.

The International Union (a Georgist group) has long been involved with the United Nations. There are strong statements and endorsements of support for land value taxation: ". . . and by preventing land speculation, promoting . . ."

There are long sentences, the results of various groups and interests each getting something put in.

The ICLEI is an association of local governments for sustainability.

There are three documents, parts of which were shown on screen. The first was "An Invitation to Mayors and Other Public Officials Who May Want to Implement a Land Value Tax/Land Value Capture Public Finance Policy." Secondly, there was a "Memorandum of Understanding." Thirdly, there was a "Land Value Capture/Land Value Tax Research Project Questionaire."

The ICLEI is in favor of sustainability and low carbon emissions.

I made some note about a Q&A session, but if any questions were actually asked and answered, I didn't make notes about them.

After this came dinner on your own.
