Flexibility
Dec. 11th, 2022 11:44 amI am a part-time teleworker, normally required to spend five days per biweek at the office, and allowed to spend the other five at home. I was planning to meet that requirement for this biweek by coming to the office on Thursday the 17th and Friday the 18th. Doing consecutive days would minimize the trouble of hauling my computer and other stuff back and forth, and I had reason to be at the office Friday: the exterminator is scheduled to visit my apartment, so I will need to pack up the kitchen beforehand, and prefer to pack a lunch and then eat dinner in a restaurant, rather than be where the exterminator has sprayed.
However, a couple of days ago, I received a notice that the water will be shut off in my apartment building from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM Tuesday, so my current plan is to go to the office in Carlyle on Tuesday and Friday. I wish I didn’t have to deal with these inconveniences, but since I do, job flexibility helps.
