Cookie Dough

A few hours ago, I made cookie dough, which I put into the refrigerator to rest for at least twelve hours; then I will be able to bake some chocolate chip cookies. This entry is tagged “Cynthia” instead of “Food” because my ladyfriend and I have a date scheduled for Monday evening, and I plan to give her some of the cookies then. We’re getting takeout from Namaste Jalsa; Cynthia prefers not to go maskless in a restaurant, where she might be exposed to COVID-19 and other microbes, so we’re planning to dine in a lounge in the Patent Office, which other people are not likely to be using at that hour.

Date: 2022-09-18 05:27 pm (UTC)ROFL! Thank you! And I shall tell you the story of the profile pic and how it lead to marriage! I'm originally from Phoenix and the Arizona Renaissance Festival has been going on for over 30 years now. I bought the outfit, sans mask, 20 or so years ago. At that time, they had a small ren fest in Phoenix. I was wearing contact lenses at the time, one of my occasional experiments. There was a vendor there that had that amazing ceramic mask, and I bought it! They wanted to take a picture of me since I was in full garb, so I struck a pose. They took it with a digital camera and emailed me a copy, which quickly became my profile pic. Fast forward to 19 years ago. I'm on a dating web site, and that was my profile pic. My wife of now 17+ years is an astronomer (PhD astronomy/astrophysics), we live in very rural New Mexico, and the dating pool is - shall we say - rather shallow. She was having problems finding people of sufficient intellectual calibre to date, so she expanded her search radius to 500 miles and hit Phoenix, and my profile - and that picture! And was intrigued. For starters, she was a ren fest person, being twice the National Scottish Harp Champion from competing at them. And she figured 'he can't be that bad looking and obviously has some self-confidence to put himself out there in a photo like that' and we started talking, met about two months later - going to the AZ Ren Fest, and married 18 months after first meeting online. December will be 19 years since we met online.

Date: 2022-09-18 07:43 pm (UTC)Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed my/our story. I haven't been to Bianco's, there's three places I frequent for pizza: Craft 64 (co-owned by a friend), Federal Pizza, and The Parlor. Lots of great restaurants there. I've recently started frequenting a German restaurant called Edelweiss, very traditional and great food. My wife does have an account here that I moved from Live Journal, but she hasn't posted in thirteen years, and then only about writing fanfic.
