The collapse of a bridge in Pennsylvania is taken is showing the need for a multitrillion dollar federal infrastructure bill. In fact, most of the proposed spending is not directed to bridge repair and other traditional infrastructure, and the money from Pennsylvania’s fuel tax is being diverted to fund the police instead. One can make a case for taxing fuel to fund road construction and maintenance, but people’s use of police services is not likely to bear any particular relationship to their purchases of gasoline.

I hate how money gets diverted from its proclaimed purpose. Gas taxes don't go for roads and infrastructure, lottery taxes don't go to education. It's almost like politicians aren't honest or something!
