I don’t recall meeting anyone named Olivia when I was growing up, but it has apparently been the most popular name for girls the past couple of years. This reminds me: when I gave blood in September, a young woman named Olivia took my temperature, blood pressure, and a drop of blood, and approved me to donate.

She may soon need to get used to mothers calling “Olivia!”, and realizing it usually isn’t about her. I had an unusual name growing up, but then “Nicholas” rose in popularity.
