Maintenance

ndrosenWednesday morning at about 9:15 AM, someone from apartment maintenance knocked on my door; there was a plumbing problem above my apartment, and he needed to make a hole in the ceiling of my bathroom (above the bathtub, as it turned out). The bathroom was soon covered with sheeting, so I couldn’t use it, and around noon, I called the management office to ask when the maintenance man would be back. The man who answered the phone didn’t know, but he found out and called me back in a few minutes: Carlos the maintenance man had been called to an emergency elsewhere, but would be back around 1:30.
Around 2:00 PM, Carlos and another fellow came by, and spent considerable time at work. Finally, they were finished, and I got to clean the bathroom (to be fair, they had cleaned it afterward themselves). I also laundered my towels.
This kind of thing is necessary sometimes, but it can be an annoyance.
