Delivery and Pickup

A couple of days ago, I called UPS, because, as I understood it, Amazon was supposed to send them to pick up my first CD and cassette player, the one which didn’t work properly, but no one had come. This led to a telephone message from someone at the local UPS office, which led to my calling her. It seems that the UPS driver had left a label for me at the front door of the apartment building on May 5, and I never saw it. So they would send someone to deliver the label and pick up the box again.
After some hours, there was a knock on my apartment door. I thought it was from UPS, and when the man wanted me to sign for something, I spoke on that basis, asking him if he would pick up the box as well as deliver the label. He wasn’t in the famous UPS brown uniform, and didn’t speak English very well, so we were talking at cross purposes. Then I saw that the receipt he wanted me to sign was for Heather Patterson, which is not my name. I explained this to him, and that he was in the wrong building. He had the building number and the apartment number right, but the street name wrong. I hope that he finally succeeded in making the deliver6 to Ms Patterson.
Some time later, the UPS man came and knocked, with the return label, which he stuck on the box, so the defective product is being returned.
