There’s a good article by Ted Chiang in The Atlantic, about what artificial intelligence, especially in the form of Large Language Models, is and is not. In particular, he maintains that it isn’t conscious, and cannot be a moral agent, contrary to the impressions which an AI’s verbal output may create.

This week, an amendment appeared on my Expedited docket, giving me a total of two cases there. I wrote and posted an Office Action in response, leaving me with one case one my Expedited docket, a Board of Appeals decision affirming my rejections, which is in Paused status. I also have an amendment on my Amended docket.

I have been working on my oldest Regular New application.
