Near the Patent Office a few days ago, I saw lilacs in bloom. On a walk around my own neighborhood Thursday afternoon (I have teleworked Thursday and Friday), I again saw some lilacs, and tiger lilies in several places, as well as other flowers.

We’re in late spring, a bit different from cherry blossom season.
I started the week with four amendments on my Amended docket; I finished an Office Action on one of them, so now I’m down to three. This case took longer to do than a standard amendment might, since I did a First Action on the Merits regarding the current non-withdrawn claims; the amendment was actually an election of which claims would be examined, following a written restriction requirement which I sent out a few months ago, telling the applicant that the various sets of claims amounted to two different inventions.

There is one biweek left in the third quarter, and I am going to have to be productive.
