I was taking my evening walk Wednesday, and jogging at the time, when I saw some critter make a dash from the bushes. I stopped, and saw a black (or at least pretty dark) cat some distance off, glaring at me with yellow eyes. I didn’t want to trouble him further, so I turned around to get my fresh air and exercise somewhere else.

On Thursday morning, I was taking a brief walk when I met a woman walking three dogs, a basset hound, a Cavalier King Charles spaniel, and a mutt. I established relations with the basset, who let me pat his head.
Today I wore my Henry George tie, and wished people a happy Henry George Day. One acquaintance said that he would Google the nineteenth century economist. If you believe that it’s a good idea to tax bands instead of goods, to charge people for the land that they hold or the pollution they emit into the atmosphere, and instead of for what they earn by their own labor, or for the valuable goods and services which they provide, take a look at the website of the Center for the Study of Economics. If you’re inclined to help out, you can donate through the website, or mail a check to CSE at P.O. Box 400, Collingswood NJ 08108.

This does not apply to you if you have business before the Patent Office, you’re a fellow federal employee, or it would otherwise be improper for me to request or suggest your donating.
This week, I got one new amendment, and finished an Office Action on the amendment I had before, so I’m back to one amendment on my Amended docket, and one affirmance from the Board of Appeals on my Expedited docket.

Back on Saturday, I finished an Office Action on what was then my oldest Regular New application in time to post it for last biweek. Then, with the current biweek, I had a new oldest Regular New non-RCE application and a new oldest Request for Continued Examination application on my Regular New docket. I finished an Office Action on the RCE case Monday, and have started searching the prior art for my oldest non-RCE Regular New.

There are just four weeks left in the Fiscal Year.
