Trumpublican Primary
Feb. 13th, 2020 12:09 amWhile Bernie Sanders won the Democratic primary in New Hampshire, Donald Trump won by a landslide in the Trumpublican primary, with 85% of the vote to Bill Weld’s 9%. In another words, a plurality of Democrats support a socialist, and a large majority of Republicans favor keeping a fascist demagogue.
In one of his early speeches, Abraham Lincoln predicted that if the American experiment in republican self-government were to fail, it must end by suicide. People on both sides of our current political divide, people who would call themselves patriots, and who do not seek the country’s destruction, seem to be acting in ways which, if continued and accelerated, may lead to national suicide.
