The Red Queen’s Race
Nov. 29th, 2019 10:54 pmI didn’t get any amendments this week, so I’m where I was last week, with one Board of Appeals decision on my Special Amended docket, and no actual amendments.
I did a first action on the one Special New case I had; then I did Office Actions on the two Request for Continued Examination cases on my Regular New docket. I was looking at a Regular New case which I won’t actually examine for several weeks at least, and started working on a request to the Electronic Information Center to do a search on it, so that would be ready. Then I decided that the claims were different enough from each other that I should call the patent attorney and request an election of which set of claims he wanted me to examine soon (he would be able to file Divisions to have have the other inventions examined). The attorney told me that his client did not authorize elections by telephone, so I should send a written Restriction Requirement, and I proceeded to write that up. This was an unusually productive week.
Then I began work on my oldest Regular New case (not counting the Request for Continued Examination cases that I had written Office Actions on). I hope to finish that next week.
