Crying Child

One consequence of working at home is that I sometimes hear a child crying in one of the other apartments. I hope she isn’t being abused, merely putting up a fuss because she has to stop playing and take a bath, or whatever the issue is. I don’t hear this constantly, but it does sometimes happen. I can’t even tell from which other apartment the crying is coming from. I’d like to offer her (possibly him, but I think the voice is feminine) a kind word sometimes, but even if she and her family occasionally emerge from their apartment at the same time that I’m out of mine, I wouldn’t know who she is.
