Speaking Academically

On Saturday afternoon, I got a call asking me to take part in a survey; the lady taking the survey asked me questions about what electronic devices I have in my apartment, and what I do with them, etc. At or near the end, she asked what the highest grade that I had completed was. I replied that I have a Ph.D.

She said that she wasn’t surprised to hear that, from the way I spoke.

Apparently, I can sound quite academic.
