I think it was Robert Conquest who said that the best way to predict the behavior of any organization was to assume it to be run by a secret conspiracy of its enemies, and it seems that the Republican Party has just illustrated the principle. The hard core deplorables will be pleased, but a majority of the country won’t be, and I expect the political pendulum to swing against the GOP. It may be pleasant to see Lindsey Graham and his pals lose, but I am not eager to see people like Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders win.

Given the dirt that has been dug up on Dishonest Donald and Moscow Mitch, one might say that the conspiracy of enemies of the GOP and the USA scarcely bothers to be secret.

My opinion of Mitt Romney has gone up a notch.

Mitt Romney seems to have rediscovered his backbone. Too bad more of his colleagues didn't do the same. I find it unfathomable how some of them can admit that wrong was done but act like it doesn't matter.
