Waiting to Board

I’m in the Pittsburgh airport, waiting to board a flight back to Dulles. I mostly enjoyed the conference, although the TSA confiscated my tube of toothpaste on the way to Pittsburgh. Going back, I made sure to put the replacement tube I had bought in Pittsburgh in my checked bag. I’m wearing a white shirt, my Henry George Sesquicentennial tie, and a blazer, since I dressed up for the banquet last night and the farewell brunch this morning. Wearing cuff links that have to be removed and reinserted does make getting through airport security a little more exasperating than it would be anyway.

I crated an almost mini-scene one Thanksgiving when the TSA confiscated my butternut squash. I had an email from TSA with my list of Thanksgiving carry-on items they said the squash would not be considered a liquid. The arbitrary discretion of TSA can be wide.
