Unable to Post Links

I have found that when I post links in Dreamwidth, they don’t work; clicking on them results in 404 error messages. If this happened once, it might be because a particular webpage was down, or I had made an error in writing code for the link, but it has happened repeatedly.

Does anyone know what’s wrong? Have other people had the same experience? Is there a solution?

That link works for me, but one of my own does not. I need to figure out why.

I use Open angular bracket a href = URL in quotes close angular bracket, words to constitute the link, then /a in angular brackets.

What about you?

There are two links in my post “XKCD Wisdom” and one in “Georgist Conference in O’Fallon, Part Thirtty-Three.” All of them lead to 404 error notices when I try clicking on them.

Here's your problem:

You've got basic quotes and smartquotes around the link. The smartquotes cause DW to try to make the link somewhere in your DW domain:

https://ndrosen.dreamwidth.org/“https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chrystia_Freeland”

I didn’t see double quotes around the URLs. I my look again, and see how things can be adjusted.
