Good Hummus, Mediocre Bread

This weekend, I tried buying a brand of hummus new to me, The Perfect Pita hummus, and I like it. It’s creamy, flavorful, and fresh-tasting, like something you would find made in-house at a Lebanese, Turkish, or Greek restaurant.
You know the expression, “the greatest thing since sliced bread”? Well, that’s not how I see it. I prefer to buy unsliced bread, and slice it when I want to eat it; I think it’s fresher that way, and I can try to slice it to the thickness I would like. Last week at Whole Foods, I didn’t find any unsliced Old World Rye Bread, which I wanted for one of my loaves of the coming week, so I bought a sliced loaf in its plastic bag, put it in the freezer when I arrived home, and defrosted it last night. It’s edible, but the unsliced version is better. I have an unsliced loaf of a different kind in the freezer, which I plan t9 eat Thursday and Friday.
