Dinner at Namaste Jalsa

ndrosenAfter a long day of patent examining, I went to to dinner at Namaste Jalsa, an Indian-Himalayan restaurant half a mile or so from the Patent Office. I hadn’t been there in more than two years; I remember that back in March of 2020, I hoped to go there one more time before the lockdown took effect, but didn’t make it.
I ate vegetable pakora to start with, and then dal tadka (basically cooked split peas, but that doesn’t do the dish justice) with rice, and drank a small glass of mango juice. The food was quite good, but spicy; fortunately, I had remembered to bring a box of Kleenex, and a plastic bag for the used Kleenexes. Indian-level spicy heat clears the sinuses, and also encourages people to drink fluids and to sweat, which should cool them a bit on a hot day in Delhi.
