Veterans Day, Updated

ndrosenThree days ago, I enjoyed leisure because Veterans Day is a federal holiday. In the supermarket today, I saw a legless old man in a motorized wheelchair; his cap and jacket identified him as a veteran of the Korean War, and specifically of 1952-53.
I considered saying something to him, but I did not know what words could be remotely adequate.
