Jun. 10th, 2023 03:35 amThis week, something showed up on my Expedited docket, and I dealt with it. The problem was that there was no period at the end of one claim in an allowed application, so I fixed that by Examiner’s Amendment.
I finished an Office Action on the one case which was on my Amended docket last week, and then another amendment showed up, so I’m back to having one amendment on my Amended docket.
Someone filed a Request for Continued Examination, so I got an RCE case on my Regular New docket this week, and I wrote an Office Action on that. I also did an Office Action on my oldest non-RCE Regular New case, but not in the usual way; instead of addressing the merits of the claimed invention, I wrote a written Restriction Requirement, telling the applicant that there were two sets of claims which raised different issues, and would require different searches, so it would be necessary to elect which set of claims they wanted me to examine. I don’t do these too often; more commonly, I get on the phone with the patent attorney, but this time, the attorney did not respond to the telephone messages I left for him, so I did a written restriction.
I’ve also been working on another Regular New case, and hope to finish an Office Action on that early next week.
There is one more week until the end of the third quarter of Fiscal 2023.
