Celebrating a Life

This coming weekend, there is to be celebration of Walter Rybeck, a journalist, author, Georgist activist, grandfather, and veteran of World War Two. Mr. Rybeck is still alive, I am happy to say, and some of his friends want to celebrate his life. I remember reading about him around 1980, when I first came into contact with organized Georgism, and later had the pleasure of meeting him multiple times; he’s a polite and affable gentleman, who, I hope, will live to be a hundred and twenty.

Survey from the Republican National Committee

A few days ago, I received a bogus survey and Appeal for funds from the Republican National Committee, supposedly signed by Ronna McDaniel. Since it came with a prepaid envelope, I returned it, writing a brief note beginning, “Dear Mrs. McDaniel,” and saying that I did not care for a nonsensical survey full of misleading questions, and that if the Republican Party wanted my support, it needed to renounce Trump and Trumpism, and return to being the party of Lincoln.
