Tax Returns Filed

I requested some annual leave for today, and spent time filing my income tax returns, federal and Virginia. That’s a chore taken care of, and when I get the refunds, I plan to make donations to Georgist organizations, which may bring about the day when no one needs to pay income or sales taxes, only land value tax.

I dealt with one amendment early this week, and then I got a new amendment, so I’m back at two amendments, both on my Amended docket. I worked on one of them today, and I hope to be able to call the patent attorney Monday, and work out a few minor corrections that will let me allow the case.

I also finished an Office Action on my oldest Regular New case this week. Furthermore, someone has filed a Notice of Appeal on one of my rejected cases, and also requested a Pre-Brief Conference. That means that the applicant hasn’t yet sent in an actual Appeal Brief, but he wants my supervisor and another worthy person to take a look at the case and confer with me. We held a telephone conference, and my supervisor thinks my rejections are reasonable, so we’ll tell the applicant so, and then he may, if he wishes, submit an Appeal Brief, and let the Board decide who has the better case.
