Cherry Blossoms
Mar. 21st, 2020 04:16 amThursday afternoon, I heard an announcement in a Metro station that Arlington National Cemetery station and some other station were closed to discourage cherry blossom viewing. Not that it is wicked to view cherry blossoms, but they don’t want people doing it en masse.
However, there was nothing to stop me from viewing blossoms in my own neighborhood, so when I got home, I walked a block south to view the cherry trees there by lamplight, which was something, and then I returned Friday morning to see them by daylight. There definitely were blossoms to see, although, unless my memory deceives me, there didn’t seem to be such huge masses of them as in previous years.
