Gum Graft, After Two Weeks

I’m awake and online after a major nap.

My mouth is still a bit sore, and chewing can result in pain from the area of the roof where tissue was removed to graft onto the gum, but I’m on the road to recovery. The past couple of days, I’ve had hot cereal for breakfast, and this evening, I made a Moroccan chickpea tagine, with spices, although not highly spiced, and was able to eat it pretty comfortably.

Politics Makes Strange Bedfellows

I disagree with many of Jefferson Beauregard Sessions’s views, and I am not greatly fond of the man; as I recall, I urged my senators not to confirm him as Attorney General, and I thought the only benefit of having him in that office was that it removed him from the Senate.

Nonetheless, he turned out to have one ounce of integrity, which is one ounce more than Donald Trump finds tolerable in a lackey, with the result that Trump now opposes his senatorial candidacy in Alabama, and hopes to see a thorough bootlicker as the Republican nominee. It’s not exactly that I want to see Sessions elected — if I were Alabaman, I’d vote Libertarian, or vote for Democrat Doug Jones — but I have to say that he doesn’t seem to be the worst possible Republican candidate, and has the honor of being despised by his former boss.

The Red Queen’s Race

I got one amendment on my Amended docket this week (not originally mine, but inherited from an examiner who is on assignment elsewhere), and then I finished an Office Action on an amendment of my own that was already there, so I’m back to one actual amended case on my Amended docket, and one Board decision on my Special Amended docket.

In other news, I finished a first Office Action on my oldest Regular New case, and have started on another Regular New application, which I hope to finish by Tuesday at 3:00 PM.
