This is an early edition, since I’m headed to New York City Friday morning: I received one amendment on my Amended docket this week, and didn’t work on it, so I’m up to one amendment.

I did first action rejections on my oldest Regular New, and then on another Regular New, so I have been doing some work this week.
Tucker Carlson is now reported to have praised Elizabeth Warren’s “economic nationalism”; I use quotation marks because “economic nationalism” does not mean serving the national interest, but the interests of whoever can lobby most effectively for special subsidies and protection from competition.

This makes a twisted kind of sense. Most of the Republicans have ceased even pretending to support genuine free enterprise, fiscal responsibility, and small government conservatism (sometimes known as classical liberalism), preferring to fall in line behind Trump; and as has been said, if you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything. What could a Trumpian find wrong with Senator Warren’s policies, except that she’s on the other team, and proposes, to some degree, to distribute goodies to the wrong beneficiaries?
