I got one new amendment on my Amended docket this week, and I dealt with two: my oldest amendment, and the new one, to which I had reason to give priority. In consequence, I'm down from four amendments on my docket to three.

I finished a first action rejection on my oldest Regular New patent application before 3:00 PM Tuesday, so I got that counted for last biweek, and I've been working on my current oldest Regular New case, which I hope to finish Monday.
To continue with our Open Mike session early on Saturday, July 29: Lindy Davies said that 95% of the privately owned land area in the United States is owned by 3% of the population. A bigger question, though, is how much of the land value is owned by how small a percentage of the population.

Then I took the stage and reminisced about my parents, saying that this was my father's birthday; he would have been eighty-eight. I said that a few years back, I had gone to Philadelphia for a Board meeting of the Center for the Study of Economics, and my parents had come by. They were in a retirement community in Philadelphia or a suburb, and were still in condition to travel around the city by taking a cab. I emerged from the actual Board meeting upstairs to find them chatting with Sharon Suarez, a Georgist and the wife of a Georgist; she may not have been on the Board at the time, or may have been keeping an eye on her two little dogs while the Board met. Anyway, they were impressed by the nice people they met at Henry George's birthplace, and decided that we were good folks with a good idea.

That was nice; when I was a teenager, there had been some degree of conflict over my enthusiasm for Henry George and his ideas.

That was the end of Open Mike, and we started on our scheduled program for the day.
