For some months, I have often been spiking my morning orange juice with tart cherry juice, for flavor, not for supposed medical benefits, although tart cherry juice is alleged to be beneficial in various weighs, such as improving sleep in the elderly, and helping athletes be less sore and more fit after exertion.

The number of pushups I can do at a time has gone up, and I feel more physically fit. I havenโ€™t conducted a double-blind experiment to establish that this is due to the tart cherry juice, but you may wish to consider drinking some tart cherry juice, or making an occasional tart cherry pie.

I have received no payment from the tart cherry industry for posting this.

Occasionally I drank tart cherry juice as a recovery juice when I was an avid runner.

I also used to make these seed, grain and nut-heavy bars, with bananas as a binding agent. No eggs, gluten, dairy. Low glycemic index.
