“Is Poverty Necessary?”

In the supermarket yesterday, I noticed a display of Harper’s with an article by Marilynne Robinson (a novelist whom I had heard of, but whose books I have not read), “Is Poverty Necessary?” I started reading it, and found that she had read Henry George, and had things to say about his ideas. I scanned the magazine to buy it, and plan to read the article in full, and comment about it.
