I have seen trees with masses of flowers; I think these are crepe myrtle. A woman whom I was dating a number of years ago taught me a few lessons in botanical identification.
My botanical identification is severely limited. Once, with someone I was dating (quite a number of years ago), I wanted to point out tulip beds, and forgot what they were called. One of the 2-2 flowers I can actually recognize. "Look, A**, plants!" (Yes, really. She never let me forget it.)
