Ex-Secretary Noem and the Late Terry Pratchett

President Trump has fired Kristi Noem, until now his Secretary of Homeland Security, the unstated reason being that she is an embarrassment to his administration, which sounds like a joke. I am reminded of a line from one of Terry Pratchett’s Discworld books, where a character who hopes that Angua will be safe prey is described as “recently expelled from the Thieves’ Guild for excessive enthusiasm and conduct unbecoming a mugger.”

At least we can still laugh about the current wretched administration.
