Potomac Yard Station

For months, a new Metro station has been under construction at Potomac Yard, between National Airport and Braddock Road, and for the past few days, trains have been stopping there. Wednesday was my first day this week riding in to work, instead of teleworking, so I got to see the new stop. I approve; even if my commute is a little longer as the result of Metro trains having to make an extra stop, I will now be easily able to stop in Potomac Yard on my way home from work, and buy a book or two at Barnes and Noble, or maybe get some envelopes at Staples.

It would be even better, of course, if the increased land values created by this stop were used to pay off the cost of construction, and some years ago, the land owners of Potomac Yard offered to pay for a Metro stop, but that proposal ended up going nowhere.
