ndrosenA copy of a newspaper, The Epoch Times, published by Falun Dafa, aka Falun Gong, arrived in the mail Wednesday. I remember having sympathy for Falun Gong because they were persecuted by the Chinese Communist government, and I still don’t think that people who practice traditional exercises and believe in what I see as twaddle should be persecuted, but I can’t say that I’m favorably impressed with what the American branch of the group has become. The newspaper was full of accusations against President Biden, which I, a non-admirer of his, find highly implausible, and a sheet of paper inviting me to subscribe had quotations from such Trumpist luminaries as Sebastian Gorka and Peter Navarro. Dr. Navarro has sunk in my estimation from incompetent economist to insurrectionist.
