I have written a letter to the Washington Post, replying to an Op-Ed by four other finance ministers and Janet Yellen, supporting a global minimum 15% tax on corporations. In a better world, the Secretary of the Treasury and former chairperson of the Federal Reserve Board would know as much about taxation as a bright teenager who had read Progress and Poverty; since that is not the world we live in, I hope the paper at least publishes my letter.

Then again, perhaps Secretary Yellen is more knowledgeable than I would think, and just doing her job as an appointee of President Biden.

A Birthday

America’s most famous sociopathic toddler turns seventy-five today.

Perhaps one should not wish even such a public enemy ill, but I can at least hope that he reforms and tries to become ethical, which would at first be likely to cause him considerable distress. Failing that, it might benefit the country if he suffered more mini-strokes, leaving him so clearly disabled that his most thoroughly bamboozled followers could not imagine that he would be reinstated, or that he could be elected again in 2024.
