I got some sleep earlier, and I will go to bed very soon.

On Thursday, I was Toastmaster of the Day for USPTO Toastmasters. An hour or two before our noon meeting, one of our scheduled speakers canceled, so I offered to fill in and give a speech, as well as managing most of the meeting. I jotted down some notes, and when the meeting came, I introduced myself, and gave a speech about Poul Anderson and his literary works, which went over well.
No new amendments appeared this week, and I dealt with three existing amendments out of ten on my regular Amendments docket, so I'm now down to a total of nine: seven regular Amended cases, and two Special Amendeds, which are really Board of Appeals decisions affirming my rejections.

I've been working on my oldest Regular New case, but I haven't gotten as far as beginning to write the actual Office Action.
The Drug Enforcement Administration has raided the home and office of a scoundrel running a pill mill, or a heroic physician who takes the Hippocratic Oath seriously, and treats patients in severe pain, depending on whose spin is more nearly truthful. Part of the reason for the raid may be that the doctor compounded his offenses by committing freedom of speech.

Personally, I stand ready to make a donation to Dr. Tennant's legal defense, if I learn of an opportunity to do so. That's where my sympathies lie.
