Late mail

In my experience, the mail is usually delivered pretty reliably, and without too much delay. However, I recently received two issues of Science News on the same day; apparently one of them had been delayed.

Today, I received a bunch of coupons from CVS, all of them good for October 11 through October 24, with an instruction on the cover, “Postmaster, please deliver between 10/11/21 and 10/14/21.” I wonder whether this one received Postmaster General DeJoy’s personal attention.

My main job at the library is handling inter-library loan. As a part of that, I am a subscriber on an ILL email list. One point of discussion is adding a week or two to our loan times for mailing books back and forth across the country. I've done that, I'm also very relaxed on not pressing people on returning books unless I have someone clamoring for a loaned title.
