There is an interview up at Reason with Rand Paul on the lab leak deception. Senator and Doctor Paul makes the case that Dr. Fauci was not honest about supporting gain-of-function research which very probably led to the COVID-19 pandemic and millions of deaths. I used to think quite well of Dr. Fauci, and I still like him much better than Trump, but he seems not to be without flaws. You can read the interview or see a video.

Senator Paul also addresses the freedom of speech aspects of scandal: people like to excoriate Big Tech, but as a libertarian, Dr. Paul supports the right of private businesses, even huge ones, to set their own standards for what messages they will carry. It’s a different matter when the Administration currently in power leans on the information carriers to suppress dissident opinion and facts that don’t fit the official story; I agree with Senator Paul about that.
