Happy Hour
A young examiner in my extended Art Unit (we have a double Art Unit with two supervisors and a baker’s dozen examiners in each half) was leaving the Patent Office to attend medical school, so a bunch of us got together at the Trademark Grill a block from the building where we work, to see him off and wish him well. I joined the group, and drank a glass of Strongbow Cider, which made me a trifle loquacious, so, being a history buff, I told the examiness sitting across from me that there had been an Anglo-Norman warlord called Strongbow, who had been active in conquering Ireland, or at least part of it. She mentioned having drunk the cider in England, and I reminisced about having spent some months in England back in 1973, when my father taught for a term at Cambridge.
It was good to get out and socialize for a bit, but I headed back to the office eventually, and finished an Office Action before departing for the evening.
